Translations
From WinMerge Development Wiki
Our goal is to have stable releases fully localized. But as development is pretty fast, there is no way to keep translations up-to-date in beta- or experimental releases.
The table below shows the releases where a particular language was updated.

[edit] Maintained or unmaintained?
Translations are divided to four categories:
- Actively maintained - translator(s) send frequent updates
- Maintained - translator(s) (we hope) send updates when we ask
- Unmaintained - we haven't heard anything from translator(s)
- Unknown - we got update to latest stable but don't know if translator is still interested

[edit] Translations Status
[edit] Installing a translation
To change a language, select the desired language from the View->Languages menu choice; language names are shown in both languages (native language and currently selected language).
WinMerge 2.8 stable release and later releases uses Gettext PO files for translations. Every translation has its own language name + .po file in Languages subfolder. These would normally be installed for you by installer, if you did a Full Installation. Installer also allows to select individual translations to install. If you did not install translation(s) with installer you can copy the desired language file into the correct folder, and restart WinMerge.
WinMerge executable archive files (WinMerge-x.x.x-exe.zip and .7z) contain all available language files.
[edit] Updating a translation or submitting a new translation
If you would like to update any of these translations or add another translation, then please follow these instructions (found also from Docs/Developers/Translations.html in WinMerge source tree). You can find a more technical view about the Translation System in this Wiki.
[edit] Translators Mailing List
We have a mailing list in SourceForge.net for translators. If you are interested in translating WinMerge, please join the list.
