WinMerge is Open Source software onder de GNU General Public License.

Dit betekent dat iedereen de broncode kan downloaden en ze verbeteren en aanpassen. Het enige dat we vragen is dat mensen hun verbeteringen en aanpassingen terug naar ons sturen zodat alle WinMerge-gebruikers ervan kunnen profiteren.
